SceneF lists the moviegoing of California, Florida and Hawaii — the chains, the independents, the repertory houses, the drive-ins, the last single screens in small towns — in one place, on one footing. Right now that is 1033 films across 550 theaters, rebuilt daily and re-checked against each theater’s own board.

SceneF starts from a simple belief: the movies belong to everyone, and they’re something we can love together. Two hours in the dark with friends, family, and strangers is one of the last great community experiences left, and every room where it happens matters — the shiny escalator multiplex, the hundred-seat house still threading 35mm for the love of it, the drive-in at sundown. They all get the same row, the same typeface, and the same daily check here, because a person deciding what to see tonight should know their options. SceneF protects that: no accounts, no advertising, no tracking of readers, no fee to anyone buying a ticket. When you tap Tickets you go to the theater’s or its ticketer’s own box office. No ticket link pays SceneF anything today: no affiliate program is live, and every link goes to the vendor unwrapped. If that changes, this line changes with it — the programs are named on /status before the first wrapped link ships, and what appears on the board, and where, is never for sale either way.

Why the accuracy talk

A listing that is wrong is worse than no listing — you drove there. So every showtime carries where it came from and how well it is known, the verification runs are published whether they pass or fail, and the places where our knowledge is thinner (the chains, whose systems refuse machines, come from a licensed feed) are labeled rather than smoothed over.
