About
One city, every screen, checked.
SceneF lists every movie showing in San Francisco — the chains, the independents, and the repertory houses that make this a film city — in one place. Right now that is 267 films across 15theaters, rebuilt twice a day and re-checked against each theater’s own board.
It is made by Dustin York, an art director in San Francisco, and it is deliberately small: no accounts, no advertising, no tracking of readers, no fee to anyone buying a ticket. When you tap Tickets you go to the theater’s own box office. If that sale earns an affiliate commission, it comes from the ticketing company, never from you — and it never changes the order things appear in. Nothing on this site is paid placement, because nothing on this site is for sale.
Why the accuracy talk
A listing that is wrong is worse than no listing — you drove there. So every showtime carries where it came from and how well it is known, the verification runs are published whether they pass or fail, and the places where our knowledge is thinner (the chains, whose systems refuse machines, come from a licensed feed) are labeled rather than smoothed over. The record is at /accuracy, the method at /methodology, and the live health of every source at /status.
Working together
Publications and venues can run these listings on their own pages, free, with a credit line — the embed is here. Software and AI agents have a documented, key-free contract at /agents. A theater that wants a correction, a reporter with a question, or anyone who spots a wrong showtime: info@scenef.com.
