Clicks count door-crossings, not sales; the till stays with the theater. Verified daily against each theater’s own box office — see /accuracy.

Methodology: a click is counted once per crossing through this site’s ticket door, classified by user agent and by shape. A referral is a person, or an assistant fetching because a person asked it to. Two hits on one link within five seconds are one crossing. Fifty crossings in an hour at twelve theaters, or at half the board when the board is smaller; ten in a row seconds apart; a door opened on a ten-minute clock; a browser reaching three quarters of the theaters in a day — each is a program, not a reader. Every threshold spares a crossing that stands a full minute clear of the others. Crawlers cross these doors too — 265,705times so far — and are counted separately. Our own checks are excluded at the door. Aggregates only — per-venue figures are shared with that venue alone.
August, before the door recorded which browser was calling, is counted from what the visit record can carry — somewhere between 340 and 800 of these clicks. The first week of the month has no visit record at all, so nothing vouches for it either way and it is not counted.
The full count, if you want to check it: 551,264 crossings recorded, of which 3,528 are the referrals above, 265,705 are crawlers, 15,726 are second hits on one link within five seconds, 3,741 we cannot vouch for — the door could not tell which browser called and nobody was recorded visiting — 199,978reached our “showtime moved” notice rather than a box office, 62,586 could not be resolved to a house, and 0 are ours. Those seven add up to the total; a number we cannot decompose is a number you would have to take on trust.
