Sailing Set Her Free

SCREENING + CONVERSATION WITH FILMMAKER OLEG HARENCAR “Jocelyn Nash is an icon for San Francisco Bay sailors. When I first moved to the Bay area, sailing 505s in the late seventies, Jocelyn was center-stage on the sailing scene – she served as a role model for me in both sailing and sailmaking. I have always had great respect for this phenomenal woman.” – Sally Lindsay Honey, National Sailing Hall of Fame Inductee, two-time Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year With the glamorous looks of a Hollywood movie star, a UC Berkeley education, and an upper middle-class upbringing, Jocelyn seemed to be on track for what was expected of a woman of that era. But she had other plans and veered off the traditional path to set her own course. That path came at a cost. Jocelyn’s passion and mastery of sailing has helped pave the way for female sailors to compete in a sport that, only a few decades ago, was entirely male-dominated. Director: Oleg Harencar
