Sitar maestro Habib Khan takes the stage with some of the Bay Area's finest world fusion musicians, carrying the deep roots of Indian raga into open conversation with world and jazz. He is joined by guitar maestro Matthew Montfort, Persian multi-instrumentalist Michael Nejad on ney, daf, santoor and piano, and Satish Tare on tabla. Persian vocalist Parisa Vaaleh's voice becomes an instrument in its own right — moving between pure, wordless line riding the currents of the ensemble and songs in Persian, including the poetry of Rumi.
